programs
Learning Avenues believes that great child care is a partnership between families and care givers with the common goal being the healthy development of your child.

Preschool
We believe that children learn by doing—through play. We provide a safe and healthy environment in which children can learn. We help children develop personal self-control, independence, and the ability to make choices. New experiences are implemented into our curriculum to develop creativity and awareness of the environment, arts and cultures. Specially selected activities develop social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills.

School Age
We provide a positive learning environment with warm, caring staff. Providing a variety of activities such as after school programs Vancouver Wa, helps children develop responsibility, build self-esteem and enjoy the time they spend in our care. Children have the opportunity to go outdoors for play, project time, dedicated time to do homework, free choice indoors, participate in group games inside the gym, and build friendships.

FAQs
Children ages 2 ½ (and potty-trained) to 12 years old are eligible for enrollment. Learning Avenues Child Care Centers does not discriminate against children of families because of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, creed, marital status, sexual orientation, age, or handicaps.
Families who enroll children for the school year, but drop them from care during the summer must re-enroll in the fall, pay a registration fee if gone longer than three months, and are re-considered on the first come/ first served basis. Prior enrollment does not guarantee placement.
Full-time (preschool and summertime for school age) children are accepted primarily on a priority basis unless enrollment is low or a child can be “matched” with another child to share a childcare slot. Part-time and drop-in care will be determined by this; priority always goes to full-time slots. If part-time care is unable to be “matched”, parent may be asked to utilize full-time care or seek other child care.
School age children enrolled in elementary schools served by Learning Avenues Child Care Centers have first priority at their respective sites when space is available. Currently we serve George C. Marshall, Martin Luther King, and Harney elementary schools.
All forms in the Enrollment Packet must be completed and turned into the office one business day prior to your child attending. Financial arrangements must also be completed before your child’s first day of care.
Yes, call for our provider number. DSHS approval must be received before first day of attendance.
Learning Avenues offers a Sliding Fee Scale for families in which the parents are working and/or going to school. Your cost is based on your household monthly gross income. Families are encouraged and helped to seek alternative sources of childcare funding. A family eligible for DSHS is not eligible to utilize the sliding fee scale. Monthly Tuition is based on a sliding fee scale (see Sliding Fee Scale or call for a quote). It is due by the 10th of each month. Additional charges include: School Age Non-School Day Rate (all levels): $10 per day additional. School Age Late Start or Early Release (all levels): $5 per day additional.

Families are responsible for full month payments. In order to provide adequate staffing and overhead, we cannot offer credit for days missed. School-aged children are billed full day rates on snow days, in-service days, school holidays, and school vacation days. These days are added onto the basic monthly fee and the “no credit for days missed” policy does apply.
